This group is in their first year of collaboration.  The high school students will assist the middle school play with their tech expertise, teach their tricks, and learn about music.

    Loreta Kovacic

    Loreta Kovacic (Dr. K)  is a transplant Houstonian with a lifetime of experience as a pianist and a singer-songwriter. Being a multicultural musician and choosing a diverse mix of songs from wide range of styles, she charms her audiences of all ages. Her original music reflects both her International as well as Houston experience in songs like “Houston”, “Galveston”, “Fa fa familia”, etc. Even astronauts from NASA enjoyed listening to her music on the International Space Station while in orbit. Dr. K holds a Doctorate Degree in Music from Rice University. She is an experienced Music Theatre public school teacher, equally dedicated to teaching and performance.

    Steward Savage

    Steward Savage holds three BFA’s graduating with high honors from the University of Pittsburgh; Art History (emphasis in Medieval to High Renaissance); Studio Arts (emphasis in drawing and painting) and theatre arts (emphasis in acting.) In addition, he holds a Master’s in Directing and Scenography from The Chicago College of Performing Arts and  Yale School of Drama. Before beginning his teaching career, Steward, worked and designed on and Off-Broadway and in regional and national theatres around the world. He currently serves as a committee member of Americans for The Arts, the National Coalition Against Censorship, TTAO, TxETA, Tx Thespian and Stand In Pride. Mr. Savage has worked since 2010 as the Director of Theatre and Fine Arts Department Chair at Carnegie Vanguard High School in Houston, TX. Under his direction, Carnegie Theatre Company has 6 State appearances with UIL and is pleased to hold the title of 2014 UIL 5A State Championship with the production of When The Rain Stops Falling and the 2016 UIL 6A State Championship with the production of Holy Day.
